What to Expect Throughout the Year

Fall – Plant growth, seed germination, and ideal planting conditions. We'll evaluate underperforming plants, replace as needed, sow wildflower seeds, and apply organic fertilizer if desired.

Winter – Root establishment and growth season. We'll focus on cleanup, remulching, edge maintenance, and strategic pruning of evergreens and deciduous trees. Supplemental watering will be provided if rainfall is sparse.

Spring – Flowering season with warming temperatures. We'll assess water needs based on winter rainfall, manage weeding, and apply 2–3" of mulch (keeping it away from stems and leaving bare patches for ground-dwelling native bees).

Summer – Hot, dry dormancy period. We'll maintain dry grasses as needed, respecting the natural summer dormancy of many California native plants.
